From October 1 to 19, 2025, the exhibition “GREEN UP YOUR LIFE! – Because your life isn’t recyclable” will be presented at Cologne Central Station. It shows how sustainable action can succeed in everyday life – and inspires people to get active themselves.
Eight award-winning projects of the German Ecodesign Award make the exhibition a special experience: In addition to informative panels, the innovative solutions are also brought to life through exciting exhibits. The award-winning projects – from smart everyday helpers and creative upcycling ideas to sustainable product alternatives – are exhibited on the planting islands throughout the station.
In addition, Cologne city marketing is presenting three of its own sustainability projects – including a new concept for shading Hohe Straße in summer, developed in cooperation with the University of Cologne.
What visitors can also look forward to:
- Interactive augmented reality elements
- Practical tips for more sustainability in everyday life
- An exciting rally through participating shops in the station – with attractive prizes such as a high-quality goodie bag all about sustainability
On October 2 at 3:00 p.m., the official vernissage will take place in the Market Hall of the central station – with an opening speech by station manager Kai Rossmann (DB InfraGO AG), inspiring keynote speeches from winners of the German Ecodesign Award, and a subsequent networking event including a guided tour of the exhibition.
