Poroform
Julia Huhnholz | weißensee kunsthochschule berlin
Poroform investigates foaming as a designable manufacturing process. Instead of hard-to-recycle PU composite systems, the project develops mono-material foams with programmable porosity. Flexibility arises directly from the internal material structure rather than from subsequent cutting and joining. A robotic arm extrudes pre-foamed material along parametric paths, placing micro-bubbles precisely throughout the product. The process is transferable to bio-based foams.
