Seekuh Refuse Collection Ship
One Earth – One Ocean e.V.
Around ten million tons of plastic waste makes its way into the oceans every year. With their concept of the Seekuh (Sea Cow) refuse collection ship, the environmental organisation One Earth - One Ocean hopes to liberate the waters of plastic waste. The Seekuh can collect up to two tonnes of plastic waste on each trip, while recycling takes place back on land. Later, oil tankers will be used as a base for converting the plastic directly into oil. The first of these refuse collection ships is currently under construction.
