With our SPOTLIGHT ON event series, we focuses on former winners of the German Ecodesign Award and their underlying themes in expert discussions, workshops and excursions.
How have the projects developed? Where do they see themselves in ten years? What challenges do we face in the areas of food, fashion, mobility or housing? And what role do designers play in overcoming them? These and other questions form the basis for exciting discussions and reflections.
The online talk "There is another way" will kick off this year and take place as part of the Berlin Design Week. Be there and register now!

There is another way – How does sustainable consumption succeed?
In the online talk "There is another way", three winners of the German Ecodesign Award show how sustainable consumption can succeed. With an initiative for sharing things among neighbours, an online shop for giving away time and a bakery that is also a mealworm farm, the projects from Pumpipumpe, Zeit statt Zeug by Scholz & Volkmer and Baker’s Butchery are fighting waste. We talk to those responsible for the projects about the role design plays in solving current challenges and how their projects have developed since receiving the German Ecodesign Award. In addition, Lisa Frien-Kossolobow, expert for sustainable consumption at the German Environment Agency, will explain the environmental consequences of our consumption decisions and what we can do in our everyday lives. Afterwards, there will be an exchange between the speakers and the audience. It will be moderated by Ronja Scholz, designer and research assistant at the Technische Universität Berlin and Fraunhofer IZM Berlin.
The talk is free of charge and will be held in German. You can find the registration link here.
